Hi, I'm Julia.
Mystery. Moodiness. Fog.
I have always been captivated by murkiness and shadows and have found myself happiest behind a camera lens, learning to use light to emphasize the haunting beauty of the darkness itself. I photograph abandoned places, where despite a broken and crumbling facade, the past still whispers through the walls, telling us a story. I find beauty in decay and a fascination with forgotten locations. I seek out the dusty corners and the peeling wallpaper, the breezes sweeping passed torn curtains through broken window panes. My work explores the stories of abandoned places and documents the beauty and interest of decay and of long forgotten locations.
When not driving around the back roads in search of ruins, I work in a hospital as a pharmacist. I love everything about the fall season, Halloween and all things creepy! Give me a good, hot cup of coffee or tea, a glass of wine, or a bag of Doritos. I love mountains, traveling, reading, and true crime podcasts. I like the cold and the mysterious quiet of winter, and you will find me at my happiest curled up with a blanket on the couch, snuggled up with a cat.
